DISRUPTING THE FOUNDATIONS
(PART 2)
LAYING ON OF HANDS
RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD
REINCARNATION?
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ...not laying again the foundation of...laying on of hands, and resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment" (Heb. 6:1-2).
We have taken note that many Christians of today are much like the ones spoken of in chapters five and six in the letter to the Hebrews. They were dull of hearing (Heb. 5:11), and there was a need for them to be TAUGHT AGAIN THE FIRST PRINCIPLES (vrs. 12). This would indicates the necessity of RELEARNING or LAYING AGAIN THE FOUNDATION, so they could continue building a structure worthy for God to inhabit. They were admonished to leave it by building upward from it, rather than by DESTROYING IT AGAIN once it was firmly relayed.
In reading from our various English translations, it appears that Hebrews 6:1 is telling us that we are NOT TO LAY AGAIN THE FOUNDATION, but when we examine the Greek word for LAYING, we soon see that the word KATABALLO is used, which means TO CAST DOWN or DISRUPT. The same word (kataballo) is used in Revelation 12:10 in reference to Satan being CAST DOWN after Christ and His Overcomers defeat him in the spiritual warfare that is fought. Satan's foundation, his foothold on the Sons of God is DISRUPTED and he falls to the earth to no longer sit upon the throne in God's temple. When he is CAST DOWN, or "kataballoed," his foundation has certainly not been laid or made stronger, but it has been DESTROYED. Therefore, when it is said of the Hebrews, "NOT LAYING AGAIN THE FOUNDATION," it is not saying they were never to consider the foundation again, even if they had at one time destroyed it; but they were being told, NOT TO DISRUPT THE FOUNDATION ONCE IT HAS BEEN PROPERLY LAID. Of course they were not to continually dwell on such teachings, but the REALITY of those FIRST PRINCIPLES should BECOME A PART OF THEM, which should not be repented of. There is a vast difference in leaving a foundation by building upward from it, and leaving it by tearing it down and counting it as good for nothing but the poor little "babes." If such an attitude exists, then we shouldn't be surprised when it is revealed, that those who have the realities of only the first principles of the Anointing possess much more of the Kingdom of God than do the ones who are intellectually full of the many so called "deep things" of God.
Don't get us wrong, now, we love the great revelations of God...but only when they are "REVELATIONS", that is, that which are REVEALED FROM GOD. There is so much revelation going around today that is nothing more than old garbage that has been rehashed and made to look like something beautiful. That beauty, however, if we will notice, usually appeals only to the natural eyes of Adam rather than the single eye of the Spirit. The natural man will feed his body, trying to become spiritual. All manner of herbs and NATURAL foods are consumed by the natural man to enhance his pineal and pituitary glands in order to have a greater communion with God. It was said to me by one, "We are to do everything we can to make ourselves perfect, (such as our diet) and when we have done all we can, then God will step in and finish the job and change our mortal bodies."
Glands have nothing to do with spiritual birth, growth, communion, or glorification. The only thing glands do is to secrete hormones, enzymes, antibodies, and the like. They are not spiritual receptors, as some believe the pineal gland is. Brethren, don't let anybody beguile you, for such "revelations" are merely a result from disrupting the foundation or from not having a foundation properly laid in the first place. We maintain that proper diets and health are very good things to be mindful of, for it is better to be well than sick, and when we feel good we are more likely to devote our time to prayer, meditation, and study than when we are ailing. However, there is only one way for us to be able to "eat our way into the kingdom of God," and that is to EAT THE FLESH OF JESUS CHRIST, WHO IS THE BREAD OF LIFE (Jn. 6:48-56).
LAYING ON OF HANDS
The LAYING ON OF HANDS is one of the FIRST PRINCIPLES that is to become a REALITY to us, and when it does, we don't have to be "taught again" this principle. For how can we be taught something that we already know or we have become one with? This is what we must do with all the doctrines of Christ, regardless of the weight of them, we are to WALK IN THEM rather than just KNOW THEM. There are many today who can give us long renditions on the doctrine of "laying on of hands," but we dare say, there are few who experience the reality of the laying on of hands.
Looking back, we will find the laying on of
hands was an ancient practice that carried with it some very
significant meanings. THE HAND itself, in many passages,
expresses the SOVEREIGNTY, POWER, and PARTICIPATION of God
in the affairs of men, whether of cursings or blessings. The
right hand was at times for blessing Israel as well as denoting
power (Ex. 15:6 & Ps. 17:7), while
the left hand could mean
chastisement or judgment, especially when it was "joined
together" with the right side or hand.
The second judge of Israel, Ehud, was LEFT HANDED, and he took the doubled edged, one cubit long dagger from his RIGHT THIGH and trust it into the belly of Eglon, the king of Moab, (Judges 3:15-30). When the hand of God was used in reference to Israel, whether the left or the right, it was usually to judge and correct her rebellion; and when it was used on Israel's enemies, it was to save her. Therefore, the laying on of God's hands either enacted a reconciliation of Israel to God, or His hands gave her the strength and power to overcome the enemy that would lay her waste.
There was also another laying on of hands, and that was a LAYING ON OF HANDS for IDENTIFICATION and IMPARTATION. When the one who had sinned or the priest had laid hands upon the sacrificial offering, they were symbolically IDENTIFYING WITH THE FLAWLESSNESS OF THE ANIMAL as well as IDENTIFYING WITH ITS DEATH, which, of course, pointed to the sacrifice of Jesus. The ritual was symbolic of IMPARTING THEIR SINS, whether personal sins of the individual or those of the nation, INTO THE ANIMAL which was either sacrificed or sent into the wilderness to be killed by wild beasts. In like manner, our sins were IMPARTED TO JESUS, AND THEY DIED WITH HIM ON THE CROSS.
The Laying on of hands was not only used for imparting sins to scapegoats and sending them into the wilderness, but was also used of Jesus and the Christians to IMPART LIFE and HEALING, THE HOLY SPIRIT, AUTHORITY and SPIRITUAL GIFTS to those of God's choosing and sending them into the world (Mt. 9:25, Mrk. 16:18 & Acts 3:7; Acts 8:17; Acts 14:23; and I Tim. 4:14).
Many men and women of God have had the above manifestations in their lives, but more often than not, the power and gifts did them more harm than good, for success (as the world counts success, power and money) is a hard thing for the natural mind to deal with. Yes, more than we care to count have fallen to success, and their proselytes have ebbed away into the night after they and their glory were gone. If what they had was truly foundational elements, they failed to realized that THE FOUNDATION IS NOT THE COMPLETE BUILDING; otherwise, the Kingdom would now have been established and the world reconciled to God, but we see neither.
There is, however, a laying on of hands that is now having and will be having something to do with God's Kingdom and the reconciliation of the world to Him. And it will not be because of the outward manifestation of the various parts of the foundation but will be because of the rest of the building of God being firmly fastened to that foundation -- then His glory will be seen in all the world. Let us also be reminded, the glory of the temple of God is not in the foundation that is buried beneath the surface but is in that which is above ground level. So we shouldn't get too caught up, rather, buried, in the things we do. There is nothing wrong, now, with exercising certain gifts of the Spirit that have been given to us, such as: the gift of healing that will bless a person by laying our hands on them and imparting life; we can find no fault when we lay hands on one seeking more of God, and they are filled with the Holy Spirit; and neither do we condemn anyone for exercising the power and authority that God has laid upon them, such as when a foul demon is cast out. If we find fault with these things, then we find fault with God.
But oh, it is another thing when we are not just "commissioned" to do certain acts of mercy that satisfies for a time. It is when we, as THE HANDS OF GOD, are LAID UPON THE WORLD with all POWER, AUTHORITY, and SOVEREIGNTY, will there be a drawing and reconciling of it into the warm bosom of the living God. We will not be giving the people a blessing of a "handout" that will fade away, but WE WILL BE THAT HAND OF BLESSING THAT WILL NEVER DIE. This, Brethren, is a foundation that will stand the rip-tides of adversity and will ABIDE INTO THE AGE (Heb. 5:6), and not only that, but such a LIVING FOUNDATION IS INDISSOLUBLE (Heb. 7:16). Man may be able to disrupt a doctrinal foundation that has been grounded into their minds, but a foundation such as we are and are becoming will never be removed. Some may move themselves off such a foundation and build elsewhere, but if they do, they are only removing themselves from the very substance of God.
Therefore, let us be mindful of what we are doing in this hour, lest we find ourselves lacking when we need Him the most. If we have not come to know and participate in the first principles of the doctrines of Christ, then let us learn of these things and do them; but let us not be guilty of tearing them apart and undermining the people who are getting one of their first steps made sure. And when we see men moving as the foundational HANDS OF LIFE let us not look down on them from our religious pinnacles (if this is where we are) and move somewhere else to continue building our straw castles with more of our pet doctrines. Brethren, the oracles of life should be a threat only to those things that are worthy to be burned, but never to our spiritual welfare.
RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" (John 11:25).
When most people think of resurrection, their principle thoughts usually hinge on the resurrection of their BODIES after they have laid in the grave for a period of time, but there is a little more to it than this.
The word RESURRECTION means "TO STAND UP or RISE UP," which is translated from the Greek word "anastasis" and conveys no thought of it being a repeated thing. When resurrection is used in the Bible, it is usually in reference to God's quality of LIFE (ZOE, Grk.) or simply God Life, and is denoting a much HIGHER type of existence than that of natural man. When the two life forms are compared, man's natural life is so diminished that in some cases it was called DEATH. When one of Jesus' disciples desired to go with Him but first wanted to bury His Father, "Jesus said unto him, Follow Me; and LET THE DEAD BURY THEIR DEAD" (Mt. 8:22); indicating, of course, that the ones carrying the dead man to the grave were JUST AS DEAD as the corpse was. Jesus could say this, because He knew that no one had possessed God's Life but Himself. The Psalmist also wrote, "The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the CONGREGATION OF THE DEAD" (Ps. 21:16). If UNDERSTANDING is one of the prerequisites to being ALIVE, we could venture to say with all truthfulness, not only the world, but the vast majority of CHRISTENDOM IS DEAD and is in dire need of a resurrection. Now that we can see there is more to death than just our mortal bodies (that are already dead) going to the grave, we can venture a little further.
It is easy to understand, when we were first born of God, our bodies were not "resurrected" at that time, but when that BIRTHING OF GOD'S SPIRIT took place, there was certainly something in us that STOOD UP. At that time the spirit of man laid down in us and died, while the Spirit of God we were born of STOOD UP ALIVE. WE WERE RESURRECTED!...but our bodies have seen no change. It is this RISING UP of the Spirit (THE SPIRIT OF JESUS CHRIST) that will eventually change our mortal bodies; that is, as we believe INTO HIM. It was Paul who said, "...if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you" (Rom.8:11).
However, before our bodies are resurrected, made alive and fashioned like unto His glorious body (Phil. 3:21), there must be a resurrection of our souls. We have experienced the STANDING UP of our Spirit, and now the AWAKENING and RISING UP of our minds into Christ is taking place. We do have the mind of Christ now (I Cor. 2:16), but we have not yet seen it in the COMPLETE RESURRECTED STATE. In some areas, she is already in total submission and union with her husband (the Spirit) and has experienced this new life --she has taken the NAME (NATURE & AUTHORITY) OF CHRIST. However, in other areas, it seems she is not always faithful to the Spirit, for at times she is drawn back to the habits and desires she had when her "old man" (Adam) lived. We are so often discouraged by this but have reason to rejoice, for we will see the day when there is no variance, and the soul will STAND proudly beside her Head -- THAT TRANSFORMING SPIRIT OF CHRIST that now dwells in us. This is when the dead in Christ shall RISE (anastasis - stand up) first for a meeting with their Lord (husband) in the air (the realm of the soul) and cast down the prince that had always sat upon the throne in heavens of our minds (I Thes. 4:16-17 & Rev. 12:10).
This resurrection, spiritual warfare, and overcoming is already happening to some, but to others, it is yet a future thing. But regardless of whether it is a present reality or a forth coming one, when we STAND UPon the thrones where Satan has had dominion (the natural mind of Adam, Gen. 3:14 & 19) and by a decree of God , then we will have to go to war with him, for he will not gently give up what he has had for so long. Until we STAND UP BY THE POWER OF HIM THAT DWELLS IN US, and with AUTHORITY, we can never dethrone Satan, because as long as there is "dust" in our minds (dreaming and desiring to satisfy the flesh), he has the authority to sit and reign there. But when he comes and finds nothing in us (dust that he feeds upon), as it was when he came to Jesus, his authority and power is gone (his meal ticket is canceled). With that, he can be cast out of the heavens, and it will not only be an inward victory to be experienced, but we will manifest outwardly: "DELIVERANCE, and POWER, and the KINGDOM OF OUR GOD, and THE AUTHORITY of HIS CHRIST" (Rev. 12:10). GLORY BE TO GOD, LET US STAND UP!
The resurrection of the BODY will come forth after the soul, and it will happen as naturally as that of a baby when it is born as a result of his parents coming into the union of marriage. After the Spirit of Christ transforms our souls (the renewing of the mind, will, emotions, and intellect, i.e. the resurrection of our souls, Rom. 12:2), our souls are no longer natural but are SPIRITUAL. It is then that they are of the same SPECIES as that of God and will be able to produce offspring. The offspring, of course, are the manifestations of love: joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, and then, authority and power. That which is also to be the fruit and offspring of the Spirit is OUR BODIES. At that time, in the proper season, we shall be called, "Children (SONS, Grk.) OF THE RESURRECTION" (Lk. 20:36).
Just because we understand there has already been an INWARD resurrection, we don't want to get too "spiritual" minded about it; that is, out of balance and start saying that the resurrection is already past. Sure, the Spirit of Christ HAS STOOD UP in us, and our souls are in the PROCESS of STANDING UP, but for our BODIES, it is yet FUTURE. If we are not careful we can wind up like some today who fit the mold of Hymenaeus and Philetus of Paul's day, "Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some" (II Tim. 2:18). No, our bodies are just as immortal as the day we graced the earth with our presence, and they will not be changed until our souls have been completely renovated. It will be with the changing of our bodies that we shall then be called the Sons of God and will reconcile the creation of God (Rom. 8:19-21).
There are also some today who are already calling themselves the Sons of God, but it is very doubtful that such a reality exists in many, for until God makes that declaration, they are still in the process of becoming maritally united with Christ. Paul, has already told us what constitutes being a son: "For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the ADOPTION (uiothesia, Grk., SON PLACING, i.e SON DECLARATION), to wit, THE REDEMPTION OF OUR BODY" (Rom. 8:22-23). He also wrote (referring to Jesus), "And declared to be the SON OF GOD with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, BY THE RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD" (Rom 1:4).
Paul was not the first one to mention this, for Jesus Himself said, "THOSE DEEMED WORTHY to obtain that AGE, and THAT RESURRECTION from the Dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage; for they can die no more; because they are like angels; and Sons of God, being Sons of the RESURRECTION" (Lk. 20:35-36, Diaglott). It appears that these two things, BEING SONS OF GOD and BEING RESURRECTED, go hand in hand with each other. There was a time, however, when this announcement was made before Jesus STOOD UP in His glorified body, which was after John had baptized Him. God declared from the realm of the heavens, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased" (Mt. 3:17). Evidently, a physical resurrection had not taken place, but from what we understand, there had been a RISING UP of His soul to the full stature of His Father. And perhaps, when He was twelve years of age in the temple, and said, "I must be about my Father's business" (Lk. 2:49), was when His Spirit STOOD UP mature within Him, and His Father declared, but to Him alone, "YOU ARE MY SON". And perhaps, being that His soul was still in need of being taught of the Father, it was not until His soul was mature and resurrected that He was declared a Son to anyone else.
At this time, there is not enough known whether three declarations of Him being a Son was actually given, but we do know that God does things in threes. Therefore, if being resurrected is what constitutes being called "SON" by God our Father, and man is made up of (1) SPIRIT, (2) SOUL, (3) and BODY, it stands to reason that there were three phases of His one resurrection -- HIS SPIRIT when reached twelve years of age, HIS SOUL when He was thirty, and HIS BODY after He had FINISHED HIS COURSE. In all three realms Jesus STOOD UP victoriously ALIVE, and then he ascended into the heavens as a COMPLETED SON OF GOD -- with a Godly Spirit, a Godly Spiritual soul, and a Godly Spiritual body. This is what He has sent back to us -- a mature seed in SPIRIT FORM (all three parts), and regardless of which part of us is resurrected, IT WILL BE CHRIST STANDING UP. Our Father will then be heard saying, "THIS IS MY BELOVED SON IN WHOM I AM WELL PLEASED, HEAR YE HIM."
REINCARNATION?
Almost every religion in the world has some form of doctrine concerning RESURRECTION. Most of the non-Christian beliefs, however, revolve more around the idea of REINCARNATION rather than true RESURRECTION. REINCARNATION comes from the Greek word reinkarneit and means "to REenter into flesh (RE-in-carnate, i.e. again - enter - meat)," and as mentioned earlier RESURRECTION means "TO STAND UP or RISE UP," which is translated from the Greek word "anastasis" and conveys no thought of it being a REpeated thing. JESUS said I AM THE RESURRECTION and THE LIFE, and Paul said amen to this by saying, the Spirit that dwells in us will quicken our mortal bodies. Some reincarnation advocates, however, have said we will eventually attain perfection through works we do while in many different bodies. The Christians we have heard, who embrace reincarnation, do believe in being resurrected and agree it is Christ who initiates the resurrection, but it is done in progressive degrees and in many different bodies, and the more we DO in each body, as they have said, the closer we get to the final phase of glorification. The DOING that they refer to is not works we see the church system involved in but are things that pertain to their minds and bodies. On behalf of their minds, it is a continual listening to tapes or reading of books and articles for more and more "revelation knowledge," and for their bodies it is health foods to activate certain glands that will enable them to have revelations from God.
As we said before, we are certainly not opposed to healthy eating -- Christians should do more of it -- but we maintain, it is not what goes into the body that defiles man or glorifies him but what is already inside, and whatever is contained within will eventually come out. We are not opposed to listening to tapes or reading articles and books either, but when it is REVELATION we are seeking above THE REVELATOR, then we cannot be one with that. Revelation seekers alone, will no doubt get their revelations, and they may have to drive or fly half way across the country to get them from a flamboyant, quick-silver, tongued man of the hour, but the revelation they come back home with might be something like reincarnation, or glandular stimulation, or worse. Brethren, there are a few very deadly spiritual viruses, in some of the word that is going around today, and if our immune system is not built up we will be susceptible to the disease regardless of how mature we may think we are. For such an immunity, we need plenty of NUTRITIONAL FOOD, i.e. A BALANCED DIET OF THE WORD (LOGOS) rather than alfalfa sprouts; plenty of PURE WATER, A FLOWING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT rather than herb teas; lots of SONSHINE rather than sunshine; and plenty of EXERCISE, PUTTING INTO PRACTICE WHAT HAS BEEN QUICKENED AND LEARNED FROM EATING THE WORD rather than jogging three miles everyday. It is the SPIRITUAL things OF GOD that gives us Spiritual immunity to spiritual diseases and will glorify our bodies, not any natural thing, no matter how good it might be for the body.
Resurrection and change comes by undefiled REVELATION, JUDGMENT, and THE POWER OF CHRIST. These are the things that will change the spirits, minds, and bodies of "all they that go down to the dust" (see Ps. 22:27-29). When the hand of God is laid upon an individual, ANY INDIVIDUAL, they will be overwhelmed by the power and sovereignty of the Spirit that is imparted to them. They will become as meek and submissive as Paul when he was touched by His hand and cried out, "LORD, what will you have me to do?" The REVELATION of JESUS CHRIST changed Paul from a hardened murderer to a weak, submissive servant who was filled with the love and compassion of HIS LORD. In like manner, when we receive any REVELATION from the Spirit of God, WE WILL ALSO BE CHANGED. If we are not, then the revelation did not come from Him but from some other source.
JUDGMENT changes the hearts of the rebellious. One area where this is recorded is Rev. 15:4: "...All nations shall come and WORSHIP BEFORE THEE, for THY JUDGMENTS ARE MADE MANIFEST." When God lays His hand of Judgment upon the nations they will come to Him, even as Israel did in times past, but now that His Spirit has been given, they will receive chastisement unto Life and never fall back into rebellion again, for they will then be born of God. Once the revelation of Christ and Judgment have done their work upon the people and the nations, their spirits and souls, then the POWER OF CHRIST will initiate the RESURRECTION of their bodies. Let us not become impatient to see the fulfillment of this; for it is in the dispensations and ages to come when we will see the finished work of the cross (see I Cor. 15:22, Eph. 1:9-11, Eph. 2:7 & Col. 1:15).
Evidence has it, that the "revelation" of REINCARNATION has not changed people into the image of God, even if the name of Christ has been attached to it. Although, there is an image it does change them into, and from what we have seen, it is the IMAGE OF THE BEAST. Those who bear the mark and image of the beast dwell on things that pertain to the flesh -- THE BODY, i.e. CARNALITY. Reincarnation (RE-IN-CARNALITY) does just that; it not only encourages one to not lay down his flesh in this life, but in case they go to the grave, it tells them they can pick it up again and continue feeding its appetites in other lives and other bodies. In their next life, whatever they fail to overcome in this one, it is said that God will deal with it then. This could cause one to ignore his shortcomings in this life, if he thought he could put it off to the next one.
Two reasons that we have heard, that supposedly justifies their immoral acts of the flesh, such as fornication, adultery, and homosexuality, are: (1) Some believe they cannot sin, because Jesus took them to the cross and nailed them there, and because they have the Spirit of Christ who cannot sin. (2) They must become one with the person who is weak in those areas, and while joined to these "weaker ones," they absorb and destroy that persons weakness by the "life" they possess, and in this process of absorption, they are supposed to be "imparting the strength and power of the Christ life into them." However, one thing they fail to notice -- these weaker vessels are never freed from the bondage of fleshly lusts, while the supposed strong "liberators" are steeped deeper and deeper into those passions of flesh they say they are destroying.
We heard one of these evangelists say from a pulpit in Albuquerque, "Quit trying to live a moral life if your desires are still in the world, for in doing so you are sitting on the fence and you're no good to either world. Therefore, go out and get your sinning out of your system, then come back to church, and we will have some victorious Christians who can be overcomers." (These are not the exact words but carry the essence of what he said). To make such statements, we would have to conclude that he has not had the revelation nor heard the question, "CAN A MAN TAKE FIRE INTO HIS BOSOM, AND HIS CLOTHES NOT BE BURNED: CAN ONE GO UPON HOT COALS AND HIS FEET NOT BURN?" (Prov.6:27-28); or "Hell and destruction are never full; so the EYES OF MAN ARE NEVER SATISFIED... and THE FIRE SAITH NOT, IT IS ENOUGH" (Prov. 27:20 & 30:15-16). There is absolutely no way we can overcome the lusts of the flesh by loosening the restraints of the Spirit and freely indulging in them. Oh, what deception!
No doubt, only a minority of those who have erred from the truth have gone this far into gross darkness, but the same spirit that has deceived their carnal minds has also deceived other adherents to reincarnation. The CARNAL MIND, as already mentioned, will always do that which satisfies the FLESH, and it is the ENEMY OF GOD (Rom. 8:7) regardless of how it will subvert the truth to justify her deeds. It is a mind that is concerned only about the welfare of the human body and how to cater to ITS PASSIONS -- EATING, DRINKING, HEARING, SEEING, SMELLING, and FEELING. It is nothing more or less than this. Whether one is trying to eat their way into the kingdom of God, or to slowly evolve into it through many REinFLESHtations, the prognosis is the same -- IT IS FLESH, NOTHING BUT FLESH. It's worse than the flesh pots of Egypt, and God will have nothing to do with it but to JUDGE IT!
Let us pose some questions: If reincarnation is true, and at the great white throne judgment when all who are not found written in the book of Life are cast into the lake of fire, how many individuals would be cast therein of the same person? If a person had reincarnated a dozen times, and none of those lives had ever been written in the book of Life, would there twelve souls cast into the lake of fire to be judged? Or would it be only one soul who would be responsible for all of them? Just how many souls does a reincarnated person have? One or as many bodies he or she had throughout the ages?
Some people have reported remembering things in "past lives" they felt they could not have possibly known unless they were actually there. These experiences have helped to support their beliefs as well as other's in reincarnation. Such things as this had prompted me to go to the Lord and ask Him about it, and this is what I heard in my spirit: "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." I said, "Yes, I believe that, Lord, but what about the experiences these people have had?" In essence, I heard Him say: "Demons desire bodies to inhabit, and when they are without one they roam in dry places, looking for an open door. When a person begins to entertain immoral thoughts, the door of the mind is opened for a demon to enter. A demon can also encourage one to open their minds to certain things by knocking on their mind's door, and if they welcome such thoughts, the demon walks in and becomes a house guest that will eventually rule that house, and he will not leave until he is cast out by the higher power and authority of Christ.
When people remember things from past ages, it is not that they have been in that age as those individuals, but the demon was there which now dwells in them, and it had merely planted such thoughts and images in the person's mind that the demon had known from possessing other people's souls in those past ages. Just because one has accurate thoughts of things in the past does not mean he is remembering the occurrence -- they are only thinking it, the demon is the one who is remembering it, not the person.
We had received a report of an individual a few years ago who was having a demon cast out, and when it was commanded to leave, it refused. The minister said, "You have to come out, for Jesus died on the cross for this man and the blood He had shed exonerated and bought him. He now belongs to Jesus, and you have no legal claim on him...." The demon cried out, "Yes, I know, for I was there when he was crucified!"
If that man, before the demon was cast out, had meditated and tried to remember things of former times, he would have had plenty of thought and mental images of many different people from various periods of time. Even so, this does not mean that the man had been those other people; but rather, the demon was recalling its past experiences while living in their bodies and possessing their souls. Demonic possession works the same way as when Christ possesses our souls. When we free our minds from the noise of the world through meditation, whatever Spirit or spirits we are one with will begin to reveal things to our open minds. Therefore, the man was not there as someone else, but it was the demon who was there in perhaps the body of one of the religious Pharisees.
Jesus said, "I AM THE RESURRECTION and THE LIFE!" He did not say that He was "reincarnation," nor did He say that life was found in crystals, stones, glands or assorted herbs. The only resurrection life there is found in Jesus Christ! He is the foundation, the Rock of Life! He is THE CHIEF CORNER STONE!
