Feet
Proverbs 3:26 "For the LORD shall be they confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken."
All of us are fearful throughout our lives, and when we fully understand the Word of God on this subject, we will honestly not feel so bad. Especially considering that God was even fearful. Exodus 20:20 "And Moses said unto the people, Fear not, for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not." Yes, God, under the old covenant, feared that His children would sin. I am so glad that we are under a new covenant.
Metaphysical Interpretation of Feet: That place of our understanding which comes into contact with substance, the material, outer world. You can be naked, standing in the sunlight, totally wrapped up in the spirit, but your feet will still be the part of you that stays in contact with the material world. We also get our balance and strength in running from our big toes.
In Ephesians where Paul speaks of our armour, and of our “feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.” The word shod means to "bind under." So we are binding, under our feet (that which touches the ground), "peace." In doing so you have peace between you and the material world. So, Jesus walked with His feet shod, and manifested peace no matter where he went and never in contact with the outer world. Peace stood between him and the material world
The more we believe in matter (the material world), the greater the burden laid upon the feet (worry, fear) and the more tired they become. Matter, the manifested world, takes away our peace. When Jesus washed the feet of the disciples he was cleansing them to deny the material world.
God wants us to manifest the fullness of Christ now, and change the world back to its original state of perfection. Study, to show yourself approved. Do not be fearful. Fear is the devils #1 secret weapon holding Christians back. Those that fear getting close, or closer to God, fear what it may cost them, so they walk through life basically accomplishing nothing for God, and never pursuing the fullness in their lives that will set them free. The price was paid at the cross. Change fear (cold feet, dread, terror), the negative meaning into "reverence," the positive meaning of fear. Merriam-Webster defines reverence as “showing honor and respect mixed with love and awe.” When you have cold feet, when you are fearful, there is no warmth, honor, respect, love or peace in your life. You are dead TO Christ, not dead IN Christ.
Why should we "revere" God? Isaiah 45:7 says, “I form the light, and create darkness, I make peace, and create evil, I the LORD do all these things.” Using Hebrew, it reads like this: “I shape (and fashion) illumination, and dispatch (select and feed) ignorance. I bestow prosperity, and dispatch (select and feed) affliction. I the LORD, do whatever.” God is all in all.
I thank God we do not live under the old covenant, of living under laws and tradition, but we are under the one, new law, the “Royal Law,” living under God's Grace and commanded to love. When we fulfill the one "Royal Law," of love, we fulfill them all. God is all things to all men, and eventually everyone will know this and see it as truth. Some people can only serve God out of fear. Others out of reverence. One with the preparation of the gospel of peace bound under their feet, and one without it, living in fear.
"For the Lord shall be they confidence, and shall keep they foot from being taken."
