GOD'S UNLIKELY SHEPHERDS (Part 2 of 2)
A few years ago many were praying for the complete vindication of Donald Trump so he could be free to rule as the duly elected president, as a Cyrus, while others were praying that he would be impeached and shamefully disposed of. Of course, as we remember, the Steele Dossier was found to be false and he kept his office as the president, but lost the 2020 presidential election. A large number of his supporters believe that the Dominion voting machines showed a change of majority votes from Trump to Bidden, and at the same time of the evening of the election. We will most likely never know the ins and outs of the election; but, please, saints of the everlasting Kingdom, let us not be praying, as it were, for the captain of our favored "football team" to pull off a win. But rather, we should pray for the mind of our Father. Thereby, we will see and know the in-workings of all things that will fulfill His purpose at the proper time. We can then, as anointed shepherds, decree His will and it WILL be done. So now, do we pray for mercy and blessings, or judgment and sorrows? Without His mind in the matter, we have no way of knowing; but as it stands today, it appears to be judgment and sorrows. At this moment we do not see any man or woman as another Cyrus. The present one is certainly not such a king. But let it be understood, this base man was set in place by divine appointment. So who are we to say nay to His choice? To be reminded: "There is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God....For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil." Romans 13:1, 3. With this word, do you suppose the commander and chief, and vice president, of our nation today is for our good, or are they as scripture says? Unless you are deaf and blind to the core, it is clearly seen that the regime of today is the most evil and misrepresented our nation has ever known, even as their child, "woke," leads millions to their gullible insanity. Do we see the end from the beginning? Do we grasp all the interwoven workings of good and evil in God's plan for the end of the age? Not for a second! But let us rest assured that all is well! Frankly, it is the same with us as individuals; that is, the Spirit also works as effectually for us and in us as it does with the president and the so called "justice department." Therewith, today, we do not see a Cyrus who is set to free us from Babylon, but the exact opposite. Although an individual person may play a part of our well being, our King of deliverance is not a flesh and blood man. It is Jesus Christ! He is our driving force. He sees us through all of our difficulties, especially as we grasp the absolute need for Him. It is then that we can hold dear to our hearts His grace and omniscient power that enables us to conquer that which may seem to be unconquerable. Can we see why it is necessary for God's people to have so many gates of brass and bars of iron; that are, obstacles, trials, and tribulations? I am persuaded that religion void of the trials of hardships is but a spoof, a sham, a mockery, a put-on charade at best. Although religiously dressed up and portrayed as righteous ones, they are generally empty shells acting a theatrical part, living a lie on the stage of their church and the world. It has been said that "The naked truth is better than well-dressed lies," and regardless of how well-dressed the act might be, untried religion can never give people the wherewithal to be overcomers. Such acting has never nor will ever afford one of such esteem. It has nothing to equip anyone with what it takes to overcome. And please know, walking according to the Law the best that is humanly possible, is not walking in the Spirit. Religion without life cannot bring heaven’s bliss into a man’s soul. Many are very well satisfied with the world, when their fruit is the part of tree that is good, rather than the evil. But that tree is in the world, and does not pertain to the life flow of the Spirit of the Tree of Life. Remove the tribulation, which true religion knows so well, takes away the effectual working of the Spirit in people’s lives. Without hardships it will leave them with a hull, an appearance, a façade of the treasures of darkness but no substance. Please keep in mind: Let us by all means praise God for all our trials in life. "In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus in regard to you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18. And also as James wrote: "Count it all joy when you fall into diverse trials." James 1:2. Count it a blessing that we were chosen of the Lord to be numbered among those who are burdened and exercised in hardships and tribulations and terrible tempests. For by God's grace our souls will be supported, comforted, and eventually delivered from it all. As the hidden treasures of darkness become a living reality, we will find ourselves upon the blissful shores of our Lord’s peace where all sorrow and tears are wiped away. We may read these encouraging words and rejoice, that is, until we find ourselves in the prisons of darkness where there are no comforts to the soul. We may plead for mercy and for God’s vengeance to be poured out to those who have persecuted us or were responsible for our unbearable adversities that are shaking apart every sound thing in our lives. But let us not be of such demeanor; for remember, Paul and Silas were not in despair while in prison but were praying and singing hymns as the other prisoners listened. But to make matters supposedly worse, a great earthquake hit while in that foreboding place. That, however, is what it took to open the prison doors and break the bonds of not only Paul and Silas, but all the prisoners. And due to this tragedy, the jailer, along with his household, were saved. You see, there were treasures of darkness in that prison. Paul, Silas, the jailer, and his family were brought forth for all to see. So, stand fast, brethren, and see your treasures brought forth that will pass in review before all men everywhere. This is not understood by the majority, not only those of the world but not many in the church either. Until natural minds are renewed, some of our Father’s doings will not be what many would choose or even think could be something He would be a part of. For instance, if the current president happens to be another Cyrus who discovers the treasures of darkness and sets the captives free, some will surely disagree, as do I, with such a choice of God's anointed shepherd. For this unlikely shepherd who serves His purpose has nothing in him we can see that suggests, or even hints, he is a Cyrus; but is more like the clueless Belshazzar of whom judgment was pronounced upon him. "And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes." Daniel 5:25-28. Such, of course, is not uncommon; but we might ought to get used to these orders from God's High Court; for when they are given to the Watchers, they will demand that they are fulfilled whether politically minded carnal people like it or not. It is still hard for some to accept the fact that many matters are by the decree of the Watchers, and those decrees are demands by God's holy ones. This is so that the world may eventfully know that the most High rules in the kingdom of man. And also that God gives it to whomsoever He will for a time, and He sets the basest of men over nations. Daniel 4:17. Are there men or women any more base than some of our presidents and vice presidents, such as, in this present day? And each have played their part in the divine plan of God upon the nation whether for good or evil. For that matter, there have been a plethora of governors, U.S. and State officials who can also be identified as being self-serving, self-aggrandizing, self-indulging narcissistic, egotistical, proud, deceitful, vindictive, murdering, heartless, unremorseful, lying hypocrites of the worst kind. Frankly, except for a small handful, the whole body is putrefied from the head to the toes. Do you now understand what Daniel was saying? How much more base can they be? It is almost unimaginable; but it was God who set them in those positions of power and by the decree of His Watchers. With insight to such things, we can see that it is not a deep mystery that although a small smattering that have done good, there is no president who has ever had the ultimate solution to America's problems. Being men, they have often been the major cause of the problems, and there will never be a day when we can trust in horses and chariots for our deliverance. Regardless of gender, there is not one, nor many intellectuals combined, or political parties, or organizations that can rid us of wickedness, wars, poverty, and tyranny. Reversing all of this will only happen by the chosen men and women that God anoints for this purpose, and it is clear that the man and woman filling those high offices today are certainly not the ones. Oh the wonders to behold of God's handiwork that will be, and let us be sure to know that the endless reaches of the heavens and earth are subject to Him. The whole creation is encapsulated like a living organism with every part and fiber working their light and darkness, their good and evil, yet together in harmony with each other, as they carry through with what they were created to do and be. Not only governments of the world; but even the elements — storms, winds, fire, rain, hail, ice, and snow— are obedient to the command of His word. No one or thing can avoid His will. Although it is a common tenet of faith to believe that God is subject to "man's freewill"; He begs to diffe r by saying: "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of waters He turneth it whithersoever He wills." "A man's heart deviseth his way, but the LORD directeth his steps." And "The steps of aWhether it is realized or not, God controls the hearts of all the world rulers. You see, He created them and is directing their ways. He softens or hardens their hearts. Pharaoh was raised up and his heart hardened for a specific purpose. Of course, we were taught differently; namely, that the world belongs to mostly the devil, and we believed it, especially when we read about "...the prince of the power of the air" and he is "the god of this world." But according to Psalm 24:1 it does not belong to him; for "The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." God owns the whole lump and sum. He gives portions to whom He will. He appoints stewards/shepherds over His creation to carry out His purpose. And amazingly, this is regardless of their religious or moral standings. This was made clear when we consider the powers exorcized by a few of our presidents. Rather than having been disqualified from sitting in the highest office in all the kingdoms of man, they were made the presidents of it, and some of them raised us up while others brought us down. Such is the interplay of good and evil. It stands sure, in spite of renowned men, mighty angels, or demons of darkness, they all fill God's purpose; for He is the King of kings, the supreme Potentate, the Lord of lords! Whether presidents, members of congress, state governors, and officials, along with all the rulers of all the nations, they are set there to grind out the corn. And like with us and others, it is not pleasant to be the corn when the grinding comes. The kingdom of man can be raised in glory or lowered in shame, depending on God's judgments wherewith each is merited and measured. God raised Nebuchadnezzar and then took the kingdom from him. In an instant his brilliant mind was stricken. But at the end of his humbling experience, he repented and blessed the true God: "And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation." Daniel 4:34. God told this pagan that He was going to set him up as king over Babylon and that he would do His bidding, that he would be established in all the earth with wisdom, power, and might. This, of course, came to pass. But once the king started thinking that he had done it by himself, God took it from him. His son, Belshazzar, had the same problem with pride, so God struck him down the same night that he read the hand writing on the wall, as the kingdom was given to Darius the Mede. That's astounding, to think that God would raise up three heathen kings to accomplish His purpose in the earth; but He did "...Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure." Isaiah 44:28. And so it was also with Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar. (Have we seen either or all three of these in the Oval office?) It cannot be emphasize too strongly. God's will is sovereign! It simply cannot be circumvented. It will eventually be done regardless of the powers wrought against it. Unbeknown to them, of course, they were and will be doing his bidding, while they were and are harshly judged due their pride and hardness of heart. His will is always done and enforced. Every purpose is a mandate. Men and demons may seem to delay God's will; but they can be no more successful than if they attempted to hold back an earthquake or tsunami. Many do not understand or embrace this truth, but please be assured, it is not possible for anyone to sabotage the will of God. No one or thing can shut a door that He has opened, and none can open one that He has closed. The likelihood is as remote as pigs being able to perch on the frail limbs of the Dogwood tree and join the choir of songbirds. Take inventory of yourselves, dear ones, and know that there is truly a time for everything and everyone as the wise man wrote: there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens, a time for weeping and laughing, being born and dying, a time to wound and to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, a time to mourn, and a time to dance. (ref. Eccleseates 3:1-8). So, is it a time to continue weeping and mourning or a time for laughing and dancing? We pray that it is high time for laughing, and it is on the horizon, and the commencement of the victory dance as it was with king David when the ark was being brought back to the tabernacle. But we digress — the nations of the world move on the designated paths that's been marked out for them. Evil men of darkness push left and right, and often backwards, but only as He directs for whatever purpose it might be. Regardless of temporary alterations, they all remain on His appointed course until the goal is reached. Truly, "...He doeth according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?" Daniel 4:35. Surely this should give us pause for relief during such trying times, even when it appears that men, small and great, boast or imagine that they can stay the hand of the Almighty. Many in Hollywood's cheep tinsel town , as well as our Congress believe they can do so, or else they would not be committing such debauchery, perversions, especially the political atrocities and deformations against the nation, the people, the schools, and the church of the Living God. Like the Pharisees who technically crucified Jesus, their rejected Savior, have played into the will and plan of God. The most horrific crimes that have ever disgraced this world have been instruments that accelerate and build His truth in the world. The gravest of them all was the crucifixion of Jesus that made Him the Savior of the world. To follow that crime, the inquisition paved the way for expansion of the early Church, and every fagot under the feet of the martyrs in England were like welding steel girders together for the Protestant Reformation. Each torch of their tormentors was a flame that ignited the flames to their own destruction. Out from the most evil of men's deeds, God worked them all for His good and ours. His immutable purpose continued on, as wicked men and devils of darkness unknowingly helped in their shameful, tawdry acts of evil. "As it is written, For THY SAKE we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Romans 8:36. Of a truth, we are in highly deceptive times of evil, socially, religiously, and politically. It is obvious that millions are part of the dark cloud that has swept over our nation. A spiritual force has impressed upon their minds to embrace the insane WOKE ideology and derisive delusions rather than wise and wholesome truths. Ah! But all is well! For you see, that which seems to be such an awful plight today will prove to have helped to pave the way to the wonderful blessings of tomorrow! The treasures of darkness will come forth as the shouts of victory pierce the early dawn and the long-held prisoners are all set free. So, now, tell me, is it not time for a great earthquake to shake foundations, to rend the veil, to break the chains, and open every grave and prison door? Surely, it is nigh, especially since the early tremors of the ninth hour are upon us! So let it be, as God's Anointed Shepherds are ushered in, whoever they might be! Yes! Let it be, Father! Let it be! Elwin R. Roach
