Just-A-Thought No. 439 (November 13th. 2014)
From BEING comes DOING … Part 1 of 3. Picture in your mind … a knocking on your door. You answer the knock, “Who are you?” You enquire. The reply comes ‘I am the plumber or whoever!’ Quite normal for a person to describe themselves by what they ‘DO’. Moses recorded the foundation of God’s design and purpose for us with regard to relationship. MOSES was on ’Kingdom business’. (Exodus 3:13-14) And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? What shall I say unto them? (14) And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM : and He (God) said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Regarding God’s name initially Moses knew a bit more than the people. I AM THAT I AM … now that’s the DOING part of His name. In its meaning includes I WILL BE WHATEVER I NEED TO BE. I AM is who He IS … the ever-present One, always in the NOW ... in the timeless zone! (Hebrews 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that HE IS [= BEING], and that he is a rewarder [= DOING} of them that diligently seek him. It is by faith that BEING can add the DOING! How well do you know the I AM? ask yourself what do YOU believe? (not just a mental agreement with your brain’s reasoning but a heart persuasion with feeling that touches and affects you deeply) What is He to you? t.b.c. |
