THE PRIVILEGE OF THE HIGH CALLING……..Part 3 ...  BEING ADOPTED AS SONS

[In the verse below, contrast the “them” with the “we” and the “ye” …] …. There is a difference between “servants”, “children” and “(mature) sons”. Mature sons receive the inheritance whilst children have to wait and servants do not qualify for an inheritance.

(Galations 4:4)  But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son (Jesus the Christ), made of a woman, made under the law (O.T.), (5)  To redeem them that were under the law (or letter-word believers today along with Old Testament saints back then), that we might receive the adoption of sons.{huios = mature sons) (6)  And because ye are sons (determined by the Spirit within), God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father (bringing the Father-Son relationship into the forefront of your ‘walk’). (7)  Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. ‘Servants’ are classed the same as children but huios-sons have grown up into maturity.                                                                                                                                                  -------- Question: if you are an heir of $1000 …. when the Will is read, what do you expect to    receive? $1000! Right?  So if you are a mature son, what do you expect to receive as an heir of God? The inheritance promise includes the full nature, full abilities and full resources of Father-God. That is the purpose of biblical adoption which is far superior to worldly adoption. Only mature ‘huios’ sons can ‘handle such’ (from Father’s point of view). There being no orphans in Christ.
