THE PRIVILEGE OF THE HIGH CALLING……..Part 4 ... THE DOUBLE PORTION.

(Matthew 25:1-12) The FIVE WISE DOUBLE-PORTION VIRGINS Notice as you read that there were TEN virgins associated with the Kingdom of heaven . . . not just the five wise ones! (1) Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. (2) And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. (3) They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: (4) But the wise took OIL IN THEIR VESSELS WITH THEIR LAMPS. Oil in their lamps PLUS a refill in their vessel = DOUBLE PORTION OF OIL. (10) And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and THEY THAT WERE READY WENT IN with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut. (11) Afterward came also the other virgins, saying,LORD, LORD, open to us. (12) But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not (= I haven’t got truly acquainted with you!). There is still time enough for further relationship fine-tuning! Remember THEY THAT WERE READY WENT IN --- those that had (by faith… not presumption) a double portion of oil … (4) But the wise took OIL IN THEIR VESSELS WITH THEIR LAMPS. OIL in their lamps PLUS a refill in their vessel. The ‘vessel’ I held in my hand a few years ago with the lamp could easily be seen to be of the same volume. If you are not ready, you could be taken by surprise. You won’t need matches if your lamp is lit!!! (Proverbs 27:17) Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. True friends will light your lamp. Firstly then, answer this ... ‘Are you ready, really ready to enter into the fullness of God’s Kingdom’ or not really bothered? There needs to be first an overwhelming desire for this supernatural life-change; that desire will begin to open wide the door to experiencing it. Such a supply of ‘kingdom-life’ is primarily for others not yourself. t.b.c.
