Just-A-Thought No.478 (October 7th. 2015) THE SECRET OF OFFERING PRAISE (Psalm 50:23) Whoso (It is conditional some will and some won’t) offereth praise (= extends the hand***) glorifieth me (gets the focus away from ‘poor ole me’ onto HIM, our Lord Jesus Christ): and to him (You?) that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew (cause to see) the salvation ( liberty, deliverance, prosperity, safety) of God. An old rendering came my way, ‘Whoso offers praise glorifies Me and makes a way whereby I can work’. Try it! The children of Israel proved it so. (Joshua 6:5, 20) The wall around Jericho fell down flat when God’s people shouted with a great shout. What about the possible walls of the “box” you are still in? *** = lifted in acknowledging His greatness and capabilities; desiring His attention to the matter in hand; open to receive His blessing and provision. Remembering that ‘death and life are in the power of the tongue’. Most times there will be a shout of a king heard (Numbers 23:21)… Praise is mostly audible and sometimes loud but doesn’t have to be ! … adoration can be quiet and a bit more personal … ‘Whoso offers praise glorifies Me and makes a way whereby I can work’. Try it! Thanksgiving is a big part of praise. |
