SHEILA’S [J-A-T] TIDBITS No.11 (April 28th. 2015) As I walk by the beautiful lake I am often reminded of the early morning walk I took a few years ago. What I saw that morning was so unique that I cannot forget it. It was a beautiful morning. All was still and I found those walks a wonderful time to commune with My Father. Along the lake at intervals are wooden docks. On this particular morning the first dock I came to was being used for a different purpose to usual. It was loaded with sleeping geese and I was so intrigued I counted them. Seventeen! I left them sleeping and continued along the lake when I saw a line of geese swimming along toward me. They were evenly spaced and in a very straight line. I just had to count them. YES! Seventeen! Wow, Lord, What are you saying to me? What does “17” stand for. I immediately heard VICTORY and I found myself singing a chorus that we had not sung in years. ‘Victory in Jesus’. Wow, Lord, twice! That confirms your word: Thank you Lord for the ability to walk this day in Victory. I continued on, marveling in the wonderful ways He blesses us, until I came in sight of the next dock. I could hardly believe my eyes! No geese but sea or lake gulls sleeping. I began to count them....12, 13..two more to go!. Oh! two short of 17. As I realized this, suddenly two more gulls flew in and settled down to rest. ‘Oh my Goodness!’ Another 17 - that is 3 times 17 = Complete victory! Thank you Father. I turned to return home and all the gulls and geese had gone. As I drew near home, Ray was standing by the door. I shouted to him "What does 17 stand for in the scriptures?" VICTORY was his response. How wonderful to know that in Christ we already have complete victory by His grace. |
