‘re-think’ No. 33
THE BOOK OF LIFE!
The ‘Book of Life’ is not a register of born-again Christians who are going to be allowed into heaven when they die! A book consists of words written down which are thoughts expressed. Such spoken thoughts are creative (John 6:63).
The book of whose life? It is Jesus Christ who is called the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6) ... He also said that He had come to bring life and that more abundantly. LIFE is definitely the life of Christ demonstrated so marvelously in Jesus for three and half years. This is just a headline look at the subject (see end of writing).
(I Corinthians 15:46) Here is a basic principle, first the natural book or collection of scrolls and then there is the spiritual book of the out-lived life within the overcomers.
Psalm 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of THE BOOK it is written of me,
This is an Old Testament quote . . . and is understood as being a natural book . . . the book of the law and prophets written about the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Hebrews 10:7) Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. The ‘book’ is all about Christ. Here it is quoted by Jesus . . . the book written about Him Who does God’s will. . . which introduces us to the requirement for being in the book . . . it is not a literal book spoken about here,, but a spiritual book or epistle which we become. The DNA of Christ is in each one . . . however it needs to be activated by the Spirit of God through the spoken word. The DNA carries within itself the whole character and make-up of one’s forebears all the way back to Christ, the firstborn among many brethren. Such life would cause one to do Father’s will completely incorporating Father’s authority and provision.
2 Cor 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
Paul now introduces the spiritual aspect of the book . . . it is people who are doing the will of God and thus can be seen by others in the vicinity.
(3) Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. The ten trillion cells in your body including your heart, are all connected and given life via the blood which the heart pumps.
The word ‘heart’ in scripture equates with one’s nature . . . the source of life in our present mortal bodies. A new heart I give you as I take away your stony one (old self-centred hard one). [‘name’ also equates with nature or character]. We are to move in the ‘name of the Lord Jesus’, which is moving in His nature out of our quickened DNA within.
Natural Adam and his generations had a book of remembrance written in the heart of the all-knowing God; how much more will He have a book of remembrance of His own 42nd. Generation! Gen 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him. There was no actual scroll or book written for it was a record in the heart of God and He made known what was necessary for man to understand. Speaking of generations’, one needs to look at ‘re-think’ No.20 and the lineage of Christ’s DNA back to Father-God.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books (= individual records in one’s DNA) were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. These ones through unbelief and carnal living (out of self) have their Christ-DNA smothered and thus do not manifest His life. Their DNA will clearly show the extent of their recovery from death to life. The Christ-Book-Life is the ‘yardstick’ or measuring rod against which all are compared.
For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God (Col.3:1). If this was referring to those who had died without any experience of Christ, then there could not be any ‘works’ that could be referred to. Their unregenerate thoughts and actions having been redeemed by the precious blood of our Saviour. Our life, our DNA is Christ within quickened to remove all vestiges of my old life.
Since this book was written by the Holy Spirit, it contains the accurate record of one’s ‘doings’. As the ‘book of life’ is to do with those who obey the will of God, then the works noted therein will be the extent of what has been accomplished in your life through obeying the word of the Lord from the heart (not by legalism or repetitive formula) . . . within and through you.
We and especially those who desire to do the will of God, will express the BOOK OF LIFE. His life is the living, creative word and is the life that makes up the book. Through the process of Calvary, we have been given the life and as we live that Life by His grace, we are ‘read’ by others. It is not a natural book written with ink but rather written by the Spirit of God on our hearts realigning our DNA with His. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. When we speak, it should be an expression of the mind of Christ in our speech and thus we will become the will of God.
Rev 3:5 He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name (my nature being Christ’s) before my Father, and before his angels. Each one carries Christ’s nature, mind and will and our identity is attached to that portion of the Christ-Body. Due to the provision from the Lord for walking in victory, one is exhorted to overcome the world, the flesh and the devil in order to express God’s will efficiently. Those exhibiting the pure life of Christ due to their DNA having been activated, are being changed towards being fully restored.
Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
It is the Lamb-Life that we will manifest as the communication to the world. If one is not
overcoming, there is every chance that you will be misled and worship (pay honour and tribute to) and do what is NOT pleasing to God. Without His nature we will not overcome and hence will not be included in the Lamb’s Book of Life until we do. Thus we will not be the Life that He desires to swallow up the carnality of the world.
What has been written on your hearts from one’s renewed mind will manifest. The epistle of God’s will within the heart will overflow ‘for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks’. The words of life which we now speak will begin to set creation free from the grip of the carnal mind or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The life of Christ from within the overcomers will be what judges those being dealt with by God at that time.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
There is a need for those parts of our lives that do not glorify God’s will and purpose to be burned out of us all. For our God is a consuming fire – removing the blemishes so that one’s walk in the Spirit, are the pages of His Book that communicates His life. We are being read by others . . . do they receive LIFE? His life will expose all that is not of Christ . . . judging it and at the same time, showing the only right way to Life.
Anyone promoting the Kingdom of God/Heaven will exude the life of Christ continually from his or her activated DNA source. We shall not all sleep (some will and that is OK!) but we shall be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye … The Greek word for ‘moment’ is ATOMOS . . . we shall be changed in our atoms, in our DNA from the inside out. For this mortal must put on immortality . . . changed in the atoms by the words of life from us . . . the book of life . . . Christ’s life. §
