MINISTERING TO HIM
“They shall enter into My sanctuary, and they shall come near to My table, to
minister unto Me, and they shall keep My charge.”
(Ezekiel 44”16)
There is an order of “righteous sons” who become priests of the Most high God,
who enter into His dwelling place, and come near to His table, a table that is
prepared for our Lord to partake of. Not a table that we go unto, to feast at
ourselves, but a table that is HIS, where we shall minister unto Him. Our
worship is toward Him, so that He is the one Who shall be satiated – bringing
joy to Him, for His pleasure.
We know all about ‘our table’ for He constantly “prepares a table before me in
the presence of mine enemies,” (Ps. 23:5). “Who satisfieth thy mouth with good
things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s,” (Ps. 103:5). We praise
God for His bountiful blessings to us-ward, as He meets our needs, body, soul
and spirit.
But how many of us have ever thought, when we awoke in the morning, “Lord, is
there anything that I might place on YOUR TABLE today, that I might minister
unto You?” The Melchizedec priesthood is an order that, first of all, will
minister unto the Lord. They may also minister unto those in the court, but that
is secondary. But there is a deepening desire in the heart of His elect to how,
and what it truly means to minister unto Him. To be able to bring to His table
that which will bring pleasure to His heart. To be able to “worship Him in
spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him,” (John 4:23).
Surely there is a realm of communion where we can share the very secrets of His
heart. Where, rather than being so self-centered on what God can do for us, we
are able to “GIVE UNTO THE LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord
glory and strength. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name: bring an
offering, and come before Him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness,” (I
Chronicles 16:28-29).
Lord, “for Thy pleasure we are and were created,” (Revelations 4:11)
