SHEILA’S [J-A-T] TIDBITS   No.13       (May 15th. 2015)

I AM REMINDED of a time when we were in missionary training in Sydney, Australia.  The only support we had was our Heavenly Father: We were taught never to tell others of any needs we might have.  We had three children at the time and there was another family on the campus who had four.  When I saw how they lived, I said without any resentment, "Lord, if we had to live in such a way, I would believe we were in the wrong  place."  Guess what? Yes. the Lord tested us too!  The day came when we had no cash - a few potatoes and a little pumpkin which in Australia is used as a vegetable.  As I fulfilled one of my daily chores, I told the Lord that I had more food for the chickens than I had for my family's supper -- but I  knew it wasn't too late in the afternoon for Father to provide our need.  As I returned to our apartment, I was met by Una, the other mother. She had a tray of meaty bones. "Sheila, can you use these?" WOW!  Yes, Yes!  I had a pressure cooker and an hour later we sat down to a good tasty stew!  Ray recalls that there was then a knock on the door and there was a gift of stewed fruit and custard from the leaders.  Our stomachs were comfortable and our hearts were full of thankfulness. Again we were learning the truth of (Philippians.4:19), My God shall supply ALL your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus ... and also v11.  I have learned in whatsoever state I am therewith to be content .
