FREED FROM THE DEVIL'S SNARE
“And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are
taken captive by him at his will.” II Timothy 2:26
We find that the Greek word translated as “devil” actually means accuser. What
accusations, what condemnations are hurled at mankind by this instrument of
torment. Transforming himself into an angel of light, to quote and misquote the
truth, or suppressing the truth to a degree that a wrong inference is given, and
then the mind of man grapples with the distorted facts, to reason himself into
feverish turmoil while groping for answers.
Thank God, for this captivity also, there is deliverance. “And the servant of
the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all, apt to teach, patient, in
meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give
them repentance (change of mind) to the acknowledging of the truth and they may
recover them out of the snare of the devil,” (II Tim. 2:24-26).
“Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” (John 8:322). It
is a full revelation which dissipates the lies of the accuser, so the more we
are brought into the knowledge of the truth, the less room there is for him to
deceive and torment us. In this present age it is the Holy Spirit that has been
given to us to “guide you into all truth”, (John 16:31). And while the Spirit of
God will always be that Source of life and truth, He is also preparing His true
pastors, shepherds, “which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding,”
(Jeremiah 3:15). This will be a ministration beyond the known “deliverance
meetings” of past and present orders, and the poor benighted souls will “recover
themselves out of the snare of the accuser”, as the truth becomes LIFE and LIGHT
in them.
“And I saw another messenger fly in the midst of heaven, having the gospel of
the ages to preach to them that dwell on earth…”(Revelation 14:6). It is a true
message of deliverance, a word of truth that sets the captive free to fear God,
worship Him, and walk in the liberty of His Spirit.
