JULY 11
AND THE SPIRIT SAID…
“As for Me, this is My covenant with them, saith the
Lord: My Spirit that is upon them, and My words
which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out
of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor
out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the Lord,
from henceforth and for ever.” (Isa. 59:21)
“My Spirit… My words…” to be put within, to abide
within us, and not to depart. The purging and
purifying processes are so essential, that we might
be cleansed vessels to receive HIS word, a Living
Word that abides.
Again we turn to one of Paul’s statements, “- Whom I
serve with my spirit in the gospel.” (Rom. 1:9).
With a noting of the word “with” coming from the
little Greek word “en” equally translated as IN,
WITH, BY. It is to be the Spirit of our Father
abiding and speaking in you, with you, by you. As
our spirit joins into oneness with His Spirit, then
there is no more twain, but one, and then we learn
to live out of this unified spirit realm.
“Then the Spirit said unto Phillip, Go near, and
join thyself to this chariot.” (Acts 8:29).
“While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said
unto him, Behold, three men seek thee…” (Acts
10:19).
“After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go
into Bithynia, but the Spirit suffered them not.”
(Acts 16:7).
Praise God, His Spirit will not only direct your
going, but also your NOT GOING. Usually we think of
being “led by the Spirit” as a going, but it is
equally a being led by the Spirit not to go, when
this is His directive. And perhaps it requires even
more alertness to His voice, if we are prone to be a
“goer.” Our heart’s desire can be devoted to going
only by His direction, and yet be so oriented to
always be going, so it rewires discipline and
training to hear His voice when “the Spirit suffered
them not.”
“By Thy Word I must be fed, by Thy Spirit must be
led,
Precious Lord, this is my desire,
Thy Word a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my
path,
Precious Lord, lead me on in Thy way.”
