JUNE 28
THE INNER DWELLING
“Come, My people, enter thou
into thy chambers, and shut
thy doors about thee: hide
thyself as it were for a
little moment, until the
indignation be overpast.” (Isa.
26:20)
The word ”chambers: used
here is the Hebrew word
“cheder” meaning an enclosed
place, more specifically, an
inner chamber, and speaks of
that inner room of privacy
for the intimate, secret
part of our lives. We find
the same word translated as
“inward parts” in Prov.
20:27, “The spirit of man is
the candle of the Lord,
searching all the inward
parts of the belly.” This
gives direct reference to
that spiritual part of our
being, that INNER REALM
where the Spirit of Christ
doth dwell, and which is so
secret and intimate that
only our “spirit’ knows what
is really felt and known
within. For what man knoweth
the things of a man, save
the spirit of man which is
in him?” (I Cor. 2:11).
To enter into our chambers,
therefore, is to learn to
live in this inner realm
with Christ. Applied to our
spiritual walk, the obvious
is the exterior, manifested
in the flesh realm, the
outer circle, the fringes,
and we pass through the laws
of do and don’t, with our
walk and actions dealt with
from the surface, exterior
viewpoints. Then we progress
to the soul-realm, the mind,
with its intellectual
reasoning’s which need to be
brought into subjection to
the truth. The will and
emotions which dominate our
thinking must be renewed
into the mind of Christ. But
there is also this third
dimension, this inner
chamber, the inward parts of
our being, where our spirit
dwells. “He that is joined
to the Lord is one spirit.”
And here is the source of
our life, here the inner
springs are to flow, here
the kingdom is to be formed
and brought forth, till it
reaches out and reigns over
all.
All the “do-it-yourself
kits” of mind control will
fall short of their desired
results, for the true Source
of life is The Spirit of God
which is joined to our
spirit.
A wheel within a wheel is
turning,
Thy world in the world, yet
apart,
For thou shalt abide all the
shaking,
Kept safe, with the Christ,
in thy heart.
