Elevated Attitudes
by Ray Prinzing
"And when these
things begin to come to
pass, then look up, and
lift up your heads; for
your redemption, draweth
nigh."
(Luke 21:28)
The words "look up" come
from the Greek "ana-"
meaning: agin, and "kupto"
meaning: to bend. The
oppressing, depressing,
spirit of this world is
constantly causing a
bend, bowing down, hence
there is a need to bend
again, this time
reversing the downward
trend, so that we are
restored to a right
posture, returned to the
higher attitudes
according to Divine
understanding. It has
been a little by little
bending down, as
pressure upon pressure
lowered our vision to
the things of the flesh,
and the distresses of
this world's system. It
is also a little by
little, line upon line,
bending up or back
again, until our mind is
in full harmony with the
truth and
righteousness. A return
to the wisdom which we
once had in God before
the ages were framed,
and this present cosmos,
world arrangement,
began. No wonder Paul
wrote, "Be not
conformed to this
world," do not have
the same form as this
negative realm about
you, do not allow these
pressures to bend you
down until you fit into
the mold of this world,
but be ye
"transformed, by the
renewing of your mind."
(Romans 12:2).
There is a form, an
image we would bear,
HIS. So now, rather than
allowing all "these
things which are coming
to pass" to bend us
down until we are one
with the form of the
world, we can yield to
His Spirit to straighten
us up again, until we
are in that upright
position of HIS MIND.
"Lift up your
heads..." this will
raise our vision from
the earthly view to the
heavenly, and it will
definitely change our
mental attitude, for we
know that "His
thoughts are higher than
our thoughts."
(Isaiah 55:9). Let His
revealed truth become
your new attitude! Then
gird up the loins of
your mind so that there
are no little "stray
thoughts" wandering
around that would bend
your mind back to the
old courses of this
world.
Bowed low with
attitudes deformed,
We moved in spheres
where sorrows
swarmed,
All jangled when
emotions stormed.
"Twas God alone our
soul transformed.
The upward look has
far outshined
The attitudes we're
left behind.
