OCTOBER 29
ARE WE BEHAVED?
“Lord, my heart is not
haughty, nor mine eyes
lofty: neither do I exercise
myself in great matters, or
in things too high for me.
Surely I have behaved and
quieted myself, as a child
that is weaned of his
mother: my soul is even as a
weaned child. Let Israel
hope in the Lord from
henceforth and for ever.”
(Psalm 131)
The Hebrew word for
“behaved” is “shaveh,” and
it means TO MAKE EQUAL. This
indicates there has been an
end of all duality, there
are no more inner competing
drives, inner fightings, for
all has become equalized, in
unity, harmonized in
oneness. Inner harmony
because all is conformed to
His image.
“The Jews sought the more to
kill Him, because He said
that God was His Father,
making Himself equal with
God.” (John 5:18). Is it not
also true that Jesus
instructed His disciples,
“After this manner therefore
pray ye: OUR FATHER…”?
(Matt. 6:9). Do we
understand what this
relationship really means?
That He is our Father, like
begets like, and therefore
when this NEW BIRTH PROCESS
is complete, and we become
firstfruits of His new
creation, He is indeed, King
of kings, Lord of lords,
yes, God of gods.
This oneness in God is not a
thing to be selfishly
grasped, indeed, it cannot
be grasped by man. It is
that which is worked into us
by the GRACE OF GOD, we are
His handiwork completely.
“This people have I formed
for Myself; they shall shew
forth My praise.” (Isa.
43:21). Yet attesting to the
equality of the new
creation, it is written
concerning the new
Jerusalem, “The length and
the breadth and the height
of it are equal.” (Rev.
21:16). Length does not
compete against the height,
height does not compete
against the breadth, it is
all equal – behaved! No
wonder the Psalmist saw the
need to come to that state
of “behaved and quieted.”
“Every valley shall be
filled, every mountain and
hill shall be brought low.”
(Luke 3:5). Every low, empty
place in our being must be
filled up with Himself, and
every high point of self be
brought low, fully
equalized.
