SEPTEMBER 21
THE CYCLE OF WITNESS
“God also bearing witness
both with signs and wonders,
and divers miracles, and
gifts of the holy Spirit,
according to His own will.”
(Heb. 2:4)
there is a threefold
dimension in the cycle of
witness: we receive the
witness that comes to us; we
become the witness of that
which we have received; in
union with Christ, we are
that which is witnessed to.
“This is the record
(witness), that God hath
given to us eternal life,
and this life is in His Son.
He that hath the Son hath
life.” (1 John 5:11-12). As
our eyes are open to see the
truth, and our hearts
prepared to receive the
witness of God, receiving
Him we receive His life, and
than it is not only the
witness without, coming to
us, but it is within, as
“the Spirit Himself beareth
witness with our spirit that
we are the children pf God.”
(Rom. 8:16). Receiving the
witness of God, believing
the message, it becomes an
internal reality, bringing
us into the glory of His
life.
“I have appeared unto thee
for this purpose, to make
thee a minister and a
witness of these things
which thou hast seen, and of
those things in the which I
will appear unto thee.”
(Acts 26:16). Only in the
measure that He reveals
Himself to us, do we have a
message to declare unto
others. “Ye shall receive
power, after that the holy
Spirit has come upon you:
and ye shall be witnesses
unto Me.” (Acts 1:8). As we
become partakers of Him,
gaining a firsthand
knowledge by experience,
then “that which we have
heard, which we have seen
with our eyes, which we have
looked upon, and our hands
have handled, of the Word of
life,” (1 John 1:1) can we
declare to others. Not only
as a message to be voiced,
but having experienced it,
become one with the truth,
message and messenger are
merged into one, so that our
state of being is the
witness of the life which we
have received, and which we
would bear record of to
others.
Then comes the day when “the
Father that sent me beareth
witness of me.” (John 8:18).
And “the works that I do,
bear witness of me.” (John
5:36).
Receiving, becoming a
witness true,
God testifying these ones He
foreknew…
That we are HIS!
