SEPTEMBER 27
A STRONG CITY
“We have a strong city;
salvation will God appoint
for walls and bulwarks.”
(Isaiah 26:1)
In a concise form or
statement, it could be said
that: A city is a place
(position), a people, and a
state of being. “For,
behold, I have made thee
this day a defenced city.” (Jer.
1:18).
“A city broken down without
walls, is a man without
restraint over his spirit.”
(Prov. 25:28, Young’s).
Thus, to say that God is
building us a city, we are
literally using the term of
“building a city” to
symbolize how He is
preparing us to fill a
position, and become a state
of being in Him.
Having received “the end of
your faith, the salvation of
your soul,” you will find
that you have been
surrounded with SALVATION AS
A WALL and a bulwark. It
will be your protection, it
will be your security.
Indeed, so complete shall be
this salvation, that “the
prince of this world cometh,
and hath nothing in me.”
(John 14:20). “And there
shall in no wise enter into
it any thing that defileth,
neither whatsoever worketh
abomination, of maketh a
lie.” (Rev. 21:27).
Seems there are still times
when the enemy has made
inroads into the city, stirs
up our emotions with the
wrong kind of a spirit, the
spirit of the world, and
momentarily robs us of our
peace. But when our God has
fully wrought in us of His
purpose, brought us into the
totality of our salvation,
we’ll become an untouchable,
as far as evil is concerned,
for we will be surrounded by
the wall of eternal
salvation. “Thou shalt be
called, The city of
righteousness, the faithful
city.” (Isa. 1:26).
There are also gates in that
city, so that the life
thereof, and the glory
thereof, might flow out to
all mankind. “Open to me the
gates of righteousness.”
(Ps. 118:19). All that
passes out through these
gates will be a ministration
of righteousness to bring
blessing to man. “There is a
river, the streams whereof
shall make glad the city of
God.” (Ps. 46:4). Out of the
deep of the bosom of God,
flowing through HIS PEOPLE,
is a river of life to bless
all creation.
