GOD’S BRIGHT BEAMS

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. - And nations shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.” (Isa. 60:1,3)

“Darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people; but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory be seen upon thee.” The arrival of the remnant in Zion will be the key to the outflow of light which will dissipate all darkness. Through all the regions of the land of the shadow of death, His light-givers will be sent forth. His messengers going forth as a flashing fire, to illumine every darkened recess, as piercing rays to quicken “every man in his own order.” For “God came from Teman, and the holy one (saints) from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise. And brightness was as the light; He had horns out of His hand: and there was the hiding of His power.” (Hab. 3:3-4).

Margin gives, “Bright beams out of His side.” Those who have been dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, under the shadow of the Almighty, covered over in the cleft of the Rock, He shall send them forth as BRIGHT BEAMS out of His side. For he hath made “His messengers spirits; His ministers a flaming (flashing) fire.” (Ps. 104:4).

“The light shineth in the darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:5). The original for “comprehended” is not that the darkness was not aware of the Light, but that the darkness could not quench or put out the light. It is a totally victorious going forth, “conquering and to conquer.” Light is a cause, darkness is but an effect – therefore darkness is subservient to the cause, and witnesses to the Light, that the Light is greater.

Long we’ve waited through the night,
Waiting for the dawning light.
When shall come His kingdom right,
Out of Zion’s lofty height?
Glor’ous in His pow’r and might,
Ending thus corruption’s blight.
