BECOMING A CAUSEWAY

“Prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway.” (Isa. 62:10)

Moffatt “Make a path for the returning exiles, bank up a causeway.”

The word highway is “mesillah,” meaning a raised up way, a causeway. A causeway is recognized as a raised way, especially through marshland, etc. We are persuaded that IN HIM we become a part of the way in The Way. Furthermore, it would appear that God is working from both ends of this highway, soon to be joined in a very real expression of reality. Those who have gone “beyond the veil” and those “who are alive and remain “ here on earth, being joined together in Christ, in one spirit, form this causeway.

“My people hath forgotten Me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their paths from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up.” (Jer. 18:15). Burning incense to vanity – empty forms and ceremonies, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Why? Because they have been mis-led, out of the way of the Lord, to take the low way, merged into paths of the world, serving to please the flesh. Moffatt says, “they take to bypaths of their own, badly made.”

“In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travelers walked through byways (or, crooked ways).” (Judges 5:6). So chaotic had conditions become in the land, that those who once traveled the highways had now taken off down into the crooked bypaths. No wonder the challenge comes ringing clear, “BANK UP A CAUSEWAY” that there might be a solid, elevated way home to God.

Yes He is raising up a way, it will have depth and height, it will be pure, a way of holiness, solid, built on the character and quality of His divine nature. “And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.” (Ezekiel 44:23).

Elevate the pathway, reach for realms above,
Let creation now return to the ways of love.
