INCORRUPTION BROUGHT TO
LIGHT
by Ray Prinzing
"Who hath saved us,
and called us with an
holy calling, not
according to our works,
but according to His own
purpose and grace, which
was given us in Christ
Jesus before the world
began, but is now made
manifest by the
appearing of our Saviour
Jesus Christ, who hath
abolished death, and
hath brought life and
incorruption to light
through the
gospel."
(2 Timothy 1:9-10)
Christ came bringing
light upon
incorruption. He is
"the true Light, which
lighteth every man that
cometh into the world."
(John 1:9). The
law, with all its types
and shadows, a
ministration of
condemnation unto death,
was given by Moses. But
grace and truth, the
reality of the Spirit in
the better ministration
of righteousness,
brought light upon
incorruption.
Under the law, the
principle was clear,
"This do, and live."
But man was unable to
maintain the doing,
hence the law could not
bring us into the
fulness of life, "in
that it was weak through
the flesh." (Romans
8:3). But Jesus Christ
came forth with a more
excellent way," to
abolish death the word
abolish means, to make
thoroughly inactive), by
imparting a life that
cannot be corrupted. At
the risk of being
repetitions, where there
is no sin, there can be
no consequence of sin,
which is death. The
good news, the Gospel is
that there is a way of
sinless living, hence a
state of
incorruptibility.
May the Spirit continue
to purge and purify,
deliver us from every
root of that which doth
corrupt, and mar, and
bring decay, and thus
bring us into His more
abundant life. One of
the crowning glories of
this life would be to
possess this life in an
incorruptible body, thus
having life within
ourselves. "For as
the Father hath life in
Himself; so hath He
given to the Son to have
life in himself."
(John 5:26). "He that
spared not His own Son,
but delivered Him up for
us all, how shall He not
with Him also freely
give us all things."
(Romans 8:32). "As
the living Father hath
sent Me, and I live by
the Father: so he that
eateth Me, even he shall
live by Me." (John
6:57). As we partake of
Him, we come into His
self-sustaining life,
free from all
corruption.
